Gøg og Gokke #197114

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish localized branding for the Laurel and Hardy film duo, appeared in various printed formats throughout the twentieth century. Issue 197114 refers to a specific release from 1971, part of a long-running series of comic books published in Denmark that adapted the antics of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. These comics were designed to capture the slapstick, visual humor of the classic films for a younger readership, often utilizing a mix of translated American comic strips and original illustrations produced for the Scandinavian market.

The design of these issues typically leaned into the aesthetic of mid-century European humorous comics, characterized by clear-line art and expressive character work. During the 1970s, the Gøg og Gokke series enjoyed a dedicated following as part of a wave of classic comedic reprints that maintained the cultural legacy of the original actors. The reception was generally positive among fans of lighthearted, episodic storytelling, serving as a nostalgic touchstone for readers who grew up with the duo's cinematic performances.
