Gøg og Gokke #197217

The Gøg og Gokke comic series, featuring the iconic duo Laurel and Hardy, was a staple of Danish humor publications for decades. The issue numbered 197217 reflects the prolific output of the licensed comic adaptations that brought the slapstick visual language of the films to a static, printed medium. These comics were typically produced to capitalize on the enduring popularity of the duo's classic films, which remained a fixture of European television broadcasts throughout the twentieth century.

The design of these comics relied on recognizable caricature art intended to evoke the expressive physical comedy of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Artists tasked with these adaptations aimed to translate complex visual gags into panel-based stories, often utilizing standard tropes of the era's gag comics. While the specific creative teams behind individual issues were frequently uncredited in the serials, the series as a whole served as a nostalgic touchstone for audiences familiar with the Golden Age of Hollywood comedy.
