Gøg og Gokke #197214

Gøg og Gokke is the long-running Danish iteration of the Laurel and Hardy comic book series, which adapted the classic comedic duo's films and slapstick personas into a printed format for Scandinavian audiences. Issue 197214 represents a product of the mid-1970s era, a time when European publishers frequently licensed American cinematic icons to sustain robust weekly or monthly humor magazines.

The publication was designed to appeal to both younger readers and older fans of classic cinema, relying on the iconic visual shorthand of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. While the writing and illustrations for these specific issues were often handled by regional teams or through syndication syndicates, the design ethos remained rooted in the recognizable mid-century caricature style that successfully captured the pair’s distinct expressions and their characteristic, lighthearted mischief.
