Gøg og Gokke #52

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish localized title for the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, was a long-running comic book series published in Denmark. The series primarily featured translated versions of American funny animal and slapstick comics, often incorporating content from Gold Key or Dell Comics. Issue #52 emerged during a period in the late 1960s or early 1970s when the popularity of mid-century humor comics remained steady in the Nordic market, serving as a staple of lighthearted, episodic entertainment for younger readers.

The design and visual language of these issues relied heavily on the established aesthetic of international licensing agreements, characterized by simplified linework and vibrant, flat coloring. While the content was largely driven by syndicated American artists working under editorial direction, the Danish production team focused on adapting the dialogue and cultural nuances to resonate with local sensibilities. The series was well-regarded for its consistency and accessibility, functioning as a reliable vehicle for the physical humor that defined the Laurel and Hardy brand.
