Gøg og Gokke #57

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish localized title for the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, saw a long-running comic book series published in Denmark. The series primarily featured translated adaptations of American comic strips, often produced by Western Publishing, which captured the slapstick spirit and visual likenesses of the iconic duo. These publications served as a staple for European fans of mid-century film comedy, bringing the antics of Oliver Hardy and Stan Laurel to a new medium.

The design and artistic direction for these issues generally adhered to the house style of Gold Key and Dell Comics, which held the licensing for Laurel and Hardy characters for many years. The illustrations were focused on clear, expressive line work intended to replicate the actors' distinctive physical mannerisms. Upon their release, these comics were received as accessible lighthearted entertainment, reflecting the enduring popularity of the comedic pair across international markets throughout the 20th century.
