Gøg og Gokke #73

Gøg og Gokke was a long-running Danish comic book series featuring the iconic comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. Published primarily by Illustrationsforlaget, the series began in the mid-20th century to capitalize on the enduring popularity of the films in Scandinavia. These comics often featured translated stories from international syndicates alongside original illustrations created to capture the specific physical humor and slapstick dynamics characteristic of the performers.

Issue #73 emerged during a period when the series had become a staple of Danish newsstand culture, providing a consistent source of lighthearted entertainment for children and collectors alike. The design followed the traditional format of European newsstand comics, focusing on vibrant covers and episodic storytelling. While the series was never intended as high art, it remains a significant piece of Nordic pop culture history, documenting the transition of classic film humor into the medium of illustrated print.
