Gøg og Gokke #77

Gøg og Gokke, the Danish localized title for Laurel and Hardy, has enjoyed a long-standing presence in European comic culture. Issue #77 is part of a prolific series of humor comics that adapted the classic slapstick dynamics of the comedy duo into a printed format, serving as a staple of post-war Danish children's literature. These comics were produced to sustain the enduring popularity of the film pair, providing fans with episodic adventures that mirrored the physical comedy and lighthearted conflicts seen on screen.

The visual identity of these issues was heavily influenced by the tradition of European gag comics, often utilizing exaggerated character designs that emphasized Stan Laurel's bewildered expressions and Oliver Hardy's authoritative frustration. While individual issues were often the product of collaborative studio efforts rather than a single signature artist, the series was designed to remain accessible and consistent in tone. Upon release, these issues were received as light, evergreen entertainment, securing a dedicated readership among families who had grown up watching the original films.
