Gøg og Gokke #85

Gøg og Gokke was a long-running Danish comic book series featuring the iconic comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. Published primarily by Illustrationsforlaget, the series adapted the pair's slapstick chemistry into a medium that resonated deeply with mid-century Scandinavian readers. These issues were typically produced to capitalize on the enduring popularity of the films, which remained cultural staples long after their original cinematic release.

The visual style of the comics favored clean, expressive line work meant to capture the distinct physical mannerisms of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Artists involved in the series aimed to translate the duo's cinematic timing into sequential art, often utilizing a traditional gag-a-day format. While specific creative credits for individual issues like number 85 are often obscured by the collective studio production methods of the era, the series as a whole is viewed by historians as a significant example of licensed character merchandising in European comics.
