G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #24 Hama Files Edition #1

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero issue #24, originally published in 1984, is widely regarded as a high point in the Marvel Comics series written by Larry Hama. The story, titled 'Silent Interlude', famously features no dialogue or text, relying entirely on visual storytelling to depict Snake Eyes’ infiltration of a Cobra stronghold to rescue Scarlett. Hama, a veteran who brought authentic military tactical sensibilities to the series, collaborated with artist Mike Zeck to create this experimental issue, which has since become a seminal work in comic book history for its pacing and clarity.

The 'Hama Files Edition' refers to a later prestige reprint or special release intended to highlight Larry Hama's contributions to the franchise's mythology. These editions were designed to provide context for the enduring popularity of the original run, offering fans a deeper look at the scripts and editorial decisions that shaped the G.I. Joe universe. By focusing on Hama's original vision, the series sought to preserve the creative foundation that turned a toy-based comic book into a sophisticated, long-running action narrative.
