Guardians of the Galaxy #52

Guardians of the Galaxy issue #52 was published in August 1994 as part of the original series that debuted in 1990. This title centered on the 31st-century iteration of the team, featuring characters like Vance Astro, Yondu, and Martinex. The series was born from the creative resurgence of Marvel's cosmic line in the early 1990s, aiming to expand the reach of these characters beyond their initial sporadic appearances in the 1970s.

The issue was written by Michael Gallagher, who helmed much of the series' later run, with art by Kevin West and Steve Montano. The creative team focused on intricate intergalactic politics and the evolving dynamics of the original team members. While the series did not reach the mainstream cultural saturation of the modern film-adapted version of the Guardians, it remains a touchstone for dedicated collectors of 1990s Marvel cosmic lore for its earnest world-building and character development.
