Guy Gardner Reborn #2

Guy Gardner Reborn #2, published by DC Comics in 1992, arrived during a transformative era for the Green Lantern mythos. As the second installment of a limited series, it followed the aftermath of Guy Gardner’s temporary loss of his power ring, focusing on his quest to establish a new identity as a hero independent of the Green Lantern Corps. The narrative arc was designed to push the character away from his comedic, antagonistic roots in the Justice League International era and toward a more gritty, nineties-style anti-hero archetype.

The issue features the writing of Gerard Jones and the artwork of Joe Staton, a long-time contributor to the Green Lantern universe. The visual aesthetic leans into the bold, high-contrast style typical of the period, emphasizing Gardner’s transition to the yellow power ring he acquired from Sinestro. While the series met with mixed critical reception at the time, it remains a significant touchstone for collectors of DC's post-Crisis continuity, marking a definitive shift in one of the publisher's most polarizing and enduring figures.
