Harley Quinn #62

Harley Quinn issue #62, released by DC Comics in 2019, represents a significant chapter in the character's long-running solo series during the Rebirth-adjacent era. This specific installment was written by Sam Humphries, who was tasked with guiding the character through a meta-narrative arc that leaned heavily into the humor and subversion inherent in Harley’s persona. At this stage in the publication history, the creative team focused on blending psychological depth with the character's characteristic chaotic energy, moving Harley further away from her origins as a sidekick and firmly into a complex, independent lead.

The cover art and interior style for this period were notable for their vibrant, stylized approach, often utilizing a mix of bold line work and dynamic coloring to match Harley’s unpredictable adventures. The issue is part of a larger ongoing narrative that emphasized Harley’s evolution, reflecting the editorial direction of DC to highlight her as an anti-hero who defies traditional comic tropes. It was received as a lighthearted but essential piece of the character's modern mythology, capturing the specific tone of the late 2010s DC landscape where humor and fourth-wall-breaking were central to the series' identity.
