Hate Me, But Let Me Stay #4

Hate Me, But Let Me Stay is an independent, emotionally raw graphic narrative series that emerged from the underground zine culture of the late 2010s. Created as a personal exploration of complex interpersonal dynamics and mental health, the series utilizes minimalist, high-contrast illustration to emphasize the internal states of its characters. Issue #4 serves as a pivotal installment in the series, focusing on the tension between intimacy and self-sabotage that defines the overarching narrative arc.

The design of the issue favors a stark, monochromatic aesthetic that leans into the medium's roots in punk-influenced DIY publishing. By stripping away ornate detail, the artist ensures the reader remains focused on the dialogue and the shifting psychological states of the protagonists. Upon its release, the series garnered a dedicated following within independent comics circles, particularly noted for its refusal to provide easy resolutions to the difficult subjects it explores.
