Hello Darkness #25

Hello Darkness, published by BOOM! Studios, emerged as a notable title within the publisher's indie-leaning horror catalog. As part of a series centered on dark, atmospheric storytelling, issue #25 fits into a broader movement of modern gothic comics that prioritize mood and psychological tension over traditional superhero tropes. The series was designed to showcase emerging artistic talent, favoring stark linework and muted palettes that underscore the unsettling nature of the narrative themes.

The creative direction for the series focused on a cohesive aesthetic that aligns with the publisher's strategy of revitalizing mature-themed horror in the mid-2010s. While individual issues often serve as standalone explorations of fear, the twenty-fifth installment acts as a testament to the series' editorial commitment to maintaining a consistent, haunting visual identity. It was generally received as a stylistic success among horror enthusiasts who appreciate the intersection of classic pulp sensibilities and contemporary illustrative techniques.
