Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway #12

Volume 12 of the light novel series Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway serves as the concluding installment of the original light novel run written by Shimesaba and illustrated by booota. Published by Kadokawa under their Sneaker Bunko imprint, the series originally debuted as a web novel on the Kakuyomu platform in 2017 before being adapted into this print edition. The story centers on Yoshida, a salaryman who encounters a runaway high school girl named Sayu, focusing on their complex, non-romantic cohabitation and the themes of emotional growth and societal isolation.

The character designs by booota are noted for their expressive, soft aesthetic, which contrasts with the heavy subject matter addressed in the narrative. Volume 12 provides the final resolution to the characters' arcs, bringing the series to a deliberate close. Upon its release, the volume was received by fans as a definitive end to the controversial yet popular premise, with the overall series recognized for sparking significant public discourse regarding its themes and the nuanced development of its lead characters.
