Himesama "Goumon" no Jikan Desu #19

Himesama 'Goumon' no Jikan Desu, known in English as 'Tis Time for 'Torture,' Princess, is a manga series created by writer Shiroi Haruhara and illustrator Hiratake Kohli. The series originated on the Shonen Jump+ platform in 2019, quickly gaining a reputation for its subversion of fantasy tropes by focusing on comedic, low-stakes 'torture' sessions involving high-quality food and comforts. Chapter 19 fits within the early serialization of the manga, reflecting the established dynamic where the Princess, a captured royal knight, is consistently broken by the Dark Lord's forces through the indulgence of mundane culinary delights.

The design of the series centers on a stark contrast between the traditional epic fantasy setting and the wholesome, slice-of-life interactions between the characters. The artwork by Hiratake Kohli is characterized by clean lines and expressive, often humorous character designs that emphasize the warmth of the food-centric narrative. Upon its release, the series was received as a refreshing departure from typical battle-heavy fantasy manga, finding particular favor among readers looking for lighthearted, comfort-oriented storytelling.
