Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! Omnibus #1

Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!, originally titled Dosanko Gal wa Namara Menkoi in Japanese, began as a digital manga series by Kai Ikada in 2019. This omnibus edition collects the initial chapters of the romantic comedy, which follows a high school boy who moves to the Kitami region of Hokkaido and navigates cultural differences while forming a bond with a local classmate. The series gained popularity for its focus on regional Hokkaido dialect and local customs, providing a lighthearted perspective on rural life that contrasted with more urban-centric manga titles of the time.

The omnibus design reflects modern trends in manga publishing, aiming to provide readers with a comprehensive entry point into the series by bundling multiple individual volumes into a single trade paperback format. Illustrated by Ikada, the artwork utilizes a polished, contemporary shonen aesthetic that highlights the character designs and the snowy, scenic landscapes of northern Japan. The series has been well-regarded for its visual charm and steady character development, eventually serving as the source material for an anime adaptation that further expanded its audience reach.
