Il Giornalino #v. 88 no. 43

Il Giornalino was a long-running Italian weekly magazine for children and adolescents, published by the Pauline Periodicals. Launched in 1924, it became a cornerstone of Italian Catholic publishing, distinguishing itself by offering wholesome, high-quality comics alongside educational content and news. The magazine served as a training ground for many of Italy's most influential illustrators and writers, maintaining a steady presence in Italian households for nearly a century until its publication ceased in 2024.

This specific issue, falling within the magazine's eighty-eighth year of circulation, reflects the publication's late-period aesthetic, which balanced legacy comic strips with contemporary graphic design. The production followed a tradition of promoting moral education and cultural enrichment through storytelling, with art direction focused on accessibility for younger readers. As an institutional staple, the magazine was primarily recognized for its pedagogical role, acting as a curated bridge between traditional Catholic values and the evolving landscape of global comic art.
