Il Segno di Zorro #v. 3 no. 1

Il Segno di Zorro was a prominent Italian comic book series published during the mid-twentieth century that brought the swashbuckling adventures of the eponymous vigilante to the European market. The series emerged during a golden age of Italian pulp storytelling, where foreign characters like Zorro were adapted into stylized, serialized formats that emphasized high-contrast cover art and dramatic, kinetic action sequences to appeal to a broad audience of young readers.

The design of these issues relied on the tradition of Italian fumetti, often utilizing expressive, dramatic illustration styles to capture the hero's daring persona. While specific creative credits for the third volume, number one, are often obscured by the collective studio production methods common to the era, the work represents the enduring global influence of Johnston McCulley’s original creation. The series was well-regarded for maintaining the character's legacy in a distinct visual language, cementing Zorro's status as a quintessential cultural icon within the post-war Mediterranean comics landscape.
