Il Segno di Zorro #v. 1 no.20

Il Segno di Zorro was a prominent Italian comic book series published in the late 1940s and early 1950s, emerging during a period when American adventure heroes were being adapted for the growing Italian pulps and fumetti markets. The series focused on the swashbuckling exploits of Zorro, leveraging the character's long-standing global popularity established by the original Johnston McCulley stories and the subsequent cinematic portrayals.

The artistic direction for these early issues relied on a distinct black-and-white illustrative style, common in the post-war Italian publishing landscape, often blending dynamic action sequences with the dramatic chiaroscuro influence of contemporary noir cinema. While the specific creative teams for individual issues of this series are often credited collectively to the studio output of the era, the work was received by readers as a quintessential piece of serialized adventure fiction that helped solidify the masked hero's iconographic status in Italy.
