Il Segno di Zorro #v. 4 no. 2

Il Segno di Zorro was a prominent Italian comic book series published by Edizioni Audace, later known as Bonelli, during the post-war period. The series adapted the swashbuckling adventures of the masked hero Zorro, capitalizing on the immense popularity of the character in Italian popular culture. It emerged during a time when Italian publishers were increasingly looking to American pulp and adventure fiction to satisfy a growing audience of young readers hungry for serialized heroism.

The artistic direction for these issues often drew from established cinematic portrayals, aiming to capture the dynamic action and romantic intrigue of the Zorro mythos. While the production relied on a rotating team of illustrators tasked with maintaining a consistent pulp aesthetic, the series is recognized for its role in cementing the character's legacy within the European 'fumetti' tradition. It was received as a staple of affordable adventure serials, valued more for its accessibility and ongoing narrative arcs than for individual collector's value at the time of release.
