Infernal Hulk vs. Fantastic Four #1

Infernal Hulk vs. Fantastic Four #1 emerged from Marvel's early 2020s creative initiative to revisit the volatile power dynamics between the Hulk and Marvel's first family. Published in late 2021 and written by Alex Paknadel with art by Fran Galan, the series was designed to explore the philosophical and physical friction between Bruce Banner and Reed Richards, framing the Hulk not just as a monster, but as a recurring elemental challenge to the Fantastic Four’s scientific worldview.

The book’s aesthetic leaned into the darker, more introspective tone that defined much of the modern Hulk era, with Galan utilizing sharp contrasts to emphasize the visceral destruction caused by the Hulk’s rampages. It was received by fans as a thoughtful character study rather than a standard brawl, praised for its ability to ground the larger-than-life conflict in the long-standing intellectual rivalry between its two primary protagonists.
