Initial D (Omnibus) #10

Initial D, created by Shuichi Shigeno, began serialization in 1995 as a manga centered on the underground street racing culture of Japan's Gunma Prefecture. The omnibus editions, including volume 10, were produced by Kodansha to consolidate the lengthy series into more manageable, thicker paperback volumes for an international audience, maintaining Shigeno's signature kinetic art style that emphasizes the visceral sensation of high-speed mountain drifting.

The series remains a definitive cultural touchstone for the street racing subculture, heavily influencing automotive enthusiasts worldwide through its focus on mechanical realism and the protagonist Takumi Fujiwara's evolution from a reluctant delivery driver to a legendary racer. When released in these collected formats, the work was celebrated for preserving the intensity of the original weekly serial while introducing a generation of readers to the technical intricacies of the AE86 and the rigorous demands of touge racing.
