Jaguar God #7

Jaguar God was an independent comic series created by writer and artist Elman Brown, first published in the mid-1990s through Hall of Heroes. Emerging during the height of the independent comics boom, the series drew inspiration from Mayan mythology, weaving supernatural elements into a narrative centered on a protagonist struggling with ancient, mystical powers. The visual style leaned heavily into the hyper-detailed, bold aesthetics prevalent in nineties action comics, reflecting the era's focus on dark, atmospheric storytelling and complex, layered character design.

Issue number seven represents a critical point in the series' arc, building on the established lore of the titular deity. Brown aimed to balance high-stakes supernatural combat with the character's internal conflict, a hallmark of the series' creative direction. While the title enjoyed a dedicated following among enthusiasts of independent fantasy comics of the decade, it remains a niche piece of nineties comic book history, recognized primarily by collectors who specialize in the period's diverse landscape of small-press publishing.
