Jungle Girls #1

Jungle Girls #1 was published in 1988 by Eternity Comics, a division of Malibu Comics that specialized in reprints of vintage pulp art and niche adventure stories. Emerging during a period of rising interest in the 'Good Girl Art' style, the series was designed to showcase the work of legendary illustrators like Matt Baker, whose dynamic portrayals of jungle-dwelling heroines defined the visual language of mid-century adventure comics.

The issue serves as an anthology of pre-Code comic book stories, primarily featuring reprints of golden age tales that prioritized high-adventure tropes and stylized character design. While the publication was received by collectors as a nostalgic preservation effort, it faced contemporary scrutiny for its out-of-context presentation of material that reflected the pulp sensibilities and societal norms of the late 1940s and early 1950s.
