Jungle Girls #7

Jungle Girls #7 was published in 1952 by Star Publications during the height of the post-war pre-code horror and adventure boom. The series fit squarely into the 'good girl art' subgenre, which capitalized on pulp-inspired jungle adventure tropes featuring perilous situations and scantily clad heroines. These comics were part of a wider trend in the early 1950s that prioritized provocative covers to compete on crowded newsstands.

The interior artwork and cover designs for the Star Publications jungle titles often featured anonymous or lesser-known illustrators who worked rapidly to meet publication demands. While the series was largely dismissed by contemporary critics as formulaic exploitation material, these issues have since become sought-after specimens for collectors interested in the aesthetic of mid-century pulp art and the era of unregulated comic book content before the implementation of the Comics Code Authority in 1954.
