Justice: Four Balance #4

Justice: Four Balance #4 is part of an independent comic series that emerged during the late 1990s, a period marked by an experimental surge in creator-owned titles. The series was designed to explore themes of moral ambiguity and systemic societal collapse, moving away from traditional superhero archetypes to focus on the psychological toll of vigilantism. It was produced as a limited run, intended for a niche audience that appreciated darker, grittier narratives within the medium.

The visual identity of the series was defined by a stark, high-contrast illustration style that emphasized shadow and atmospheric tension. The creative team sought to mirror the narrative's complexity through unconventional page layouts and a muted color palette. Upon its release, the series received modest attention from underground comic circles, often noted by critics for its ambitious thematic scope and its contribution to the era’s trend toward introspective, character-driven storytelling.
