Justice League Europe #11

Justice League Europe #11 was published in February 1990 as part of a series intended to expand the scope of the Justice League franchise beyond the United States. Following the success of the Giffen and DeMatteis Justice League International relaunch, DC Comics established this European-based team to navigate international politics and bureaucracy. The series was designed to maintain the humorous, character-driven interpersonal dynamics that had become a hallmark of the JLI era, while placing the heroes in a distinct global setting.

The issue features artwork by Bart Sears, a penciler known for his highly stylized, muscular character anatomy that defined much of the early 1990s DC house aesthetic. By issue 11, the series was navigating the fallout of the 'Justice League Europe' membership trials and the comedic tension inherent in a team plagued by internal friction and external diplomatic pressure. It remains a notable relic of the late 80s and early 90s era where DC prioritized interconnected, global team narratives over singular heroic focus.
