Justice League International #62

Published in 1994, Justice League International #62 arrived during a transitional period for the title following the conclusion of the long-running Giffen and DeMatteis 'Bwah-ha-ha' era. By this stage in the series, the book had undergone significant tonal shifts as DC Comics attempted to modernize the team's lineup and address the fallout from various crossover events, reflecting the darker, more gritty aesthetic that permeated the mainstream superhero comic industry throughout the mid-1990s.

The issue features artwork and storytelling that exemplify the house style of the era, focusing on the team's internal dynamics and the persistent threat of external planetary powers. While the Justice League International brand began as a comedic ensemble piece, issues from this later run sought to recapture a sense of high-stakes action, though it ultimately served as one of the final chapters before the title was restructured entirely during the lead-up to subsequent relaunch initiatives.
