Kamisama no Gakkou - Yaoyorozu Goshinan Itashimasu #1

Kamisama no Gakkou - Yaoyorozu Goshinan Itashimasu, written and illustrated by mangaka Koharu Aoi, debuted as a light-hearted manga series exploring the intersection of divine beings and modern life. The first volume introduces the premise of a school for gods, utilizing a whimsical and soft art style to bridge the gap between traditional Japanese folklore and contemporary shojo aesthetics. It was created to provide a gentle, character-driven narrative that emphasizes the responsibilities and daily trials faced by various deities in a changing world.

The series emerged during a period of rising interest in domestic fantasy genres that prioritize slice-of-life elements over high-stakes conflict. Designers and publishers focused on an approachable, lighthearted visual identity to appeal to younger readers and those interested in mythological comedy. Upon its release, the first volume was well-received for its charming character designs and the warmth of its world-building, establishing a steady following for Koharu Aoi’s work within the niche of spiritual-themed manga.
