Kamuro no Ikoku Ryōrichō: Suzu wa Dejima no Kuzuneri-san #2

Kamuro no Ikoku Ryōrichō: Suzu wa Dejima no Kuzuneri-san is a historical manga series centered on the cultural and culinary intersections within the Dutch trading post of Dejima during Japan’s isolationist period. This second volume continues the narrative of Suzu, a character navigating the unique customs and fusion of flavors that occurred when European influences met Edo-era Japanese society, serving as a reflection of the period's rare international dialogue.

The series is characterized by its meticulous attention to period-accurate culinary practices and period settings. While the work functions as a gentle, slice-of-life exploration of historical gastronomy, it also highlights the social complexities of the time. The artistic direction favors a clean, informative style that emphasizes the aesthetics of both the ingredients and the architectural environment of Dejima, aiming to provide readers with an immersive look at a niche historical era.
