Korak, Son of Tarzan #5

Korak, Son of Tarzan #5 was published by Gold Key Comics in 1964 as part of a series focusing on the adventures of Tarzan and Jane's son. This title emerged during the mid-century expansion of Edgar Rice Burroughs' intellectual property into the comic book medium, aiming to capture a younger audience by shifting the focus to a more youthful, action-oriented protagonist who inhabited the same perilous jungle environment as his famous father.

The issue features the illustrative style typical of the Silver Age of comics, prioritizing dynamic action sequences and lush, exotic landscapes that defined the Tarzan brand. As part of a long-running series, the comic was intended as accessible adventure fiction, adhering to the established pulp tropes of the era. It was received as a straightforward, enduring example of the jungle-hero subgenre that maintained the Burroughs legacy long after the original novels had transitioned into broader pop culture iconography.
