Korak, Son of Tarzan #4

Korak, Son of Tarzan #4 was published in 1964 as part of a series launched by Gold Key Comics to capitalize on the enduring popularity of Edgar Rice Burroughs' characters. Following the success of the initial Tarzan titles, this series sought to carve out a distinct identity by focusing on Tarzan's son, Korak, who had become a fan-favorite figure in the pulp literary tradition. The comic served to expand the mythology of the jungle setting while maintaining the established aesthetic of Gold Key’s adventure line.

The issue features cover art and interior work consistent with the collaborative house style of Gold Key during the mid-1960s, a period marked by a transition toward more cinematic and action-oriented storytelling. These issues were intended to provide younger readers with accessible, self-contained adventures that mirrored the tone of classic jungle serials. Upon its release, it was received as a standard contribution to the expansive Gold Key library, appreciated primarily by loyal followers of the Burroughs universe rather than as a standalone graphic milestone.
