Koyoi no Maid wa Korosenai #1

Koyoi no Maid wa Korosenai, written by Ishiguro Masakazu, began its serialization in the Japanese seinen manga magazine Afternoon. The title, which translates roughly to The Maid Tonight Cannot Be Killed, emerged from the author's interest in blending traditional domestic tropes with supernatural or high-stakes thriller elements, a recurring signature in Ishiguro's versatile body of work.

The character design and visual direction reflect Ishiguro's clean, expressive illustrative style, which prioritizes atmospheric tension and nuanced facial expressions. Upon its release, the first volume was well-received by readers of the magazine for its sharp dialogue and subversion of standard genre expectations, securing its place within the author's broader catalog of acclaimed literary and comedic manga.
