「KuKuKu……。 Yatsu wa Shitennō no Naka Demo Saijaku」 to Kaiko Sareta Ore, Nazeka Yūsha to Seijo no Shishō ni Naru #7

This volume is part of the light novel series written by Sin Guenon and illustrated by Kako. Published under the Earth Star Novel imprint, the series emerged during a period of high popularity for 'slow-life' and 'misunderstood mentor' subgenres within Japanese web fiction, where protagonists frequently find themselves dismissed from powerful positions only to find unexpected success elsewhere. The narrative centers on a former Demon Lord general who, after being fired for his perceived weakness, begins training a hero and a saint, subverting typical power-scaling tropes common in the medium.

The character designs by Kako lean into the vibrant, expressive aesthetic typical of modern fantasy light novels, aiming to emphasize the comedic yet earnest dynamic between the protagonist and his disciples. Upon its release, the seventh volume continued the series' exploration of character growth and the shifting perceptions of power within its fantasy world, garnering a steady following among readers who enjoy lighthearted takes on epic fantasy tropes. It remains a representative example of how niche web-novel concepts are adapted for the print market in Japan.
