「KuKuKu……。 Yatsu wa Shitennō no Naka Demo Saijaku」 to Kaiko Sareta Ore, Nazeka Yūsha to Seijo no Shishō ni Naru #10

This volume is the tenth installment in the light novel series written by Sin Kouro, known in English as 'I Was Dismissed from the Dark Lord’s Army Because I Was the Weakest of the Four Heavenly Kings, So I Became the Teacher of the Hero and the Saint.' Originally popularized as a web serial on the platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō, the narrative centers on a former antagonist figure who transitions into an unexpected mentorship role. The series reflects a significant trend in contemporary Japanese fantasy literature that prioritizes subverting common tropes regarding dark lords and heroes, shifting the focus from grand-scale conflict to character-driven domestic and educational dynamics.

The illustrations for this long-running series are provided by Ajiichi, whose character designs contribute to the lighthearted yet earnest tone of the series. Published by TO Books, the physical volumes are recognized for their distinct visual style, which emphasizes expressive character art that bridges the gap between traditional fantasy aesthetics and slice-of-life comedy. Volume 10 continues the established arc of the protagonist balancing his complicated past with his new life, a thematic progression that has maintained steady reader engagement through the series' serialized release schedule.
