La Zorra y el Cuervo #62

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban humor magazine that drew significant inspiration from the classic Eastern Bloc satirical publication tradition, particularly the Soviet magazine Krokodil. Launched in the mid-1960s, the series served as a primary platform for Cuban political satire and social commentary, utilizing sharp wit and caricature to reflect the changing domestic and international climate of the era. The magazine was established by the Union of Journalists of Cuba and became a vital outlet for local graphic artists who sought to blend traditional cartooning with the specific political discourse of post-revolutionary Cuba.

The artistic direction of the series was defined by a collective of Cuban illustrators who prioritized minimalist line work and punchy visual metaphors. Issue 62, like its predecessors, featured work intended to resonate with a broad, literate public, often focusing on bureaucratic inefficiency or societal habits through the recurring archetypes of the fox and the crow. Reception of the publication was generally favorable within the island's intellectual circles, where it was regarded as a key document of 20th-century graphic satire, successfully maintaining a consistent visual identity over many years of production.
