Where it came from
La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban comic book series launched in the 1960s, heavily influenced by the popular animated shorts from the United States. Published by the Editorial Juvenil, the series was designed to adapt the mischievous dynamic of the fox and the crow into a localized format for Cuban readers, reflecting a wider trend of importing and reinterpreting classic anthropomorphic animation tropes during that era.
The visual style of issue number 8 and the series at large relied on expressive, slapstick-heavy illustrations that mirrored the animation cels of the time. While specific creative credits for individual issues often remained unlisted to prioritize the editorial collective, the series is widely regarded today as a nostalgic touchstone of mid-century Cuban pop culture, celebrated for its accessible storytelling and consistent artistic tone that defined the childhood reading experience for generations.
