Le Jeu de la Mort #15

Le Jeu de la Mort, published in France during the late 1970s, emerged as a niche entry in the landscape of pocket-sized illustrated literature and serialized suspense fiction. The series drew inspiration from the burgeoning popularity of pulp thrillers and dark, serialized mystery narratives, catering to an audience seeking compact, high-tension reading material for urban commuters and kiosk shoppers.

The visual identity of issue number 15, consistent with the broader series, reflects the gritty, minimalist aesthetic common to European digests of that era. Designed to be both inexpensive to produce and visually striking on newsstands, the cover art typically emphasized dramatic shadows and stark, high-contrast typography, aiming to evoke a sense of imminent peril while maintaining the utilitarian design standards of the period.
