Legion Lost #10

Legion Lost #10, published by DC Comics in June 2001, served as the penultimate chapter of the twelve-issue limited series written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning. This series was conceived as a darker, more desperate departure from the traditional Legion of Super-Heroes mythos, following a group of Legionnaires stranded in a hostile, prehistoric quadrant of the galaxy. The narrative was designed to test the characters' resolve in isolation, stripping away the infrastructure of the United Planets.

The interior art was provided by Olivier Coipel, whose work on the series is often cited for its gritty, cinematic fluidity and its departure from the more stylized superhero art of the late 1990s. The visual tone aimed to emphasize the environmental decay and the psychological toll of the characters' entrapment. Upon its release, the series was well-regarded by readers for successfully evolving the Legion brand into a more mature, character-focused science fiction drama that prioritized tension and camaraderie over high-concept cosmic spectacle.
