Legion Lost #9

Legion Lost #9, published in May 2012, serves as part of the Legion Lost series within DC Comics' New 52 initiative. This series followed a splinter group of the Legion of Super-Heroes stranded in the 21st century, tasked with preventing a genocidal pathogen from altering the future. The narrative arc was designed to provide a darker, more desperate tone compared to the main Legion title, emphasizing the isolation and internal friction of the team members as they navigated an alien time period.

The creative team for this issue featured writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Pete Woods. Woods’ approach to the visual storytelling utilized dynamic layouts to capture the frantic, high-stakes nature of the characters' mission. The series was met with mixed reviews from critics and readers alike; while some appreciated the commitment to a grounded, character-driven survival story, others found the narrative pacing and the grim tone to be a departure from the traditional optimism usually associated with the Legion franchise.
