Legion of Super-Heroes #15

Legion of Super-Heroes #15, published in 1985 as part of the third volume of the series, emerged during a transitional period for DC Comics. Following the groundbreaking work of Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen, this era sought to ground the far-future teen team in more mature, serialized storytelling. The narrative focus at this time often dealt with the political fallout of the Great Darkness Saga and the complex internal interpersonal dynamics of a sprawling roster that had become a cornerstone of DC's cosmic landscape.

The creative direction for this period was firmly under the guidance of writer Paul Levitz, who was renowned for his meticulous world-building and character development. The aesthetic reflected the mid-eighties transition toward more detailed, atmospheric art, intended to elevate the Legion from a lighthearted ensemble to a sophisticated space opera. The issue was received as part of a critically acclaimed run that solidified the Legion's identity as one of the most cohesive and expansive mythologies in American comic book history.
