Legion of Super-Heroes #13

Legion of Super-Heroes #13 was published in 1985 as part of the long-running DC Comics series. This era of the title, often referred to as the Baxter paper run, represented a significant shift in production quality for the publisher, featuring higher-grade paper stock and a more sophisticated printing process designed to appeal to the growing direct market of dedicated comic book stores.

The issue was written by Paul Levitz and illustrated by Keith Giffen, who were the primary creative force behind the Legion during the 1980s. Giffen's visual style during this period moved toward a sharper, more angular aesthetic, reflecting a desire to ground the futuristic setting of the 30th century in a more mature, complex narrative tone that moved away from the lighter, more whimsical roots of the earlier Silver Age stories.
