Legionnaires #21

Legionnaires #21 was published by DC Comics in December 1994, emerging during a transitional period for the Legion of Super-Heroes franchise. Following the events of Zero Hour: Crisis in Time, the publisher sought to modernize the team's lengthy history and complex continuity, resulting in a reboot of the Legion universe. This issue serves as part of the foundational effort to re-establish the core team members within a refreshed narrative framework that balanced classic character tropes with contemporary 1990s visual sensibilities.

The issue features the creative work of writer Tom McCraw and artist Jeffrey Moy, who were instrumental in shaping the early aesthetic of this rebooted series. Their design approach emphasized dynamic action sequences and expressive character work intended to appeal to both long-time fans of the Legion and new readers unfamiliar with the group's decades-long history. Upon release, the issue was received as a standard installment of the ongoing relaunch, noted for its commitment to clarifying the reorganized timeline and character origins.
