Marc Spector: Moon Knight #17

Marc Spector: Moon Knight #17 was published in August 1990 as part of an ongoing series that sought to expand the mythology of the vigilante Marc Spector. This era of the character's publication history, written by Chuck Dixon with interior art by Sal Velluto, placed a heavy emphasis on the character's complex psychological state and his transition into a more grounded, street-level antihero during the late Bronze and early Modern Age of comic books.

The issue is noted for its contribution to the expanded lore surrounding the character's supporting cast and the darker, gritty aesthetic favored by Marvel in the early nineties. Sal Velluto's design work on this title helped define the character's visual identity during this specific run, focusing on sharp, atmospheric illustrations that mirrored the character's duality. It remains a representative piece of the darker tonal shifts occurring within independent Marvel titles of that period.
