Marriage of Convenience #4

Marriage of Convenience #4 is a late-era issue from a series that occupies a niche space in independent comics history, emerging during a period when serialized storytelling was shifting toward darker, more character-focused subversions of traditional genre tropes. The title itself serves as a meta-commentary on the structural limitations of the medium, often utilizing the comic format to explore themes of obligation and artifice within relationships.

The visual identity of the series was defined by an aesthetic that favored minimalist lines and high-contrast ink work, intended to emphasize the isolation of the protagonists. While the series received modest attention upon release for its stylistic departure from mainstream superhero aesthetics, it remains largely catalogued among collectors as a period piece that captures the experimental spirit of small-press publishing from that specific era.
