Marvel Zero #1

Marvel Zero #1 was published in 1997 as a promotional one-shot intended to bridge the gap between the conclusion of the 'Heroes Reborn' event and the return of Marvel's core characters to the main continuity. It served as a narrative reset, designed to re-establish the Marvel Universe's status quo following the company's experimental outsourcing of its flagship titles to Rob Liefeld's Extreme Studios and Jim Lee's WildStorm Productions.

The issue features a creative team led by writer Joe Kelly and penciler Cary Nord, who aimed to synthesize the disparate threads of the previous year into a coherent transition. While the aesthetic reflects the late-nineties transition away from the Image-influenced style of 'Heroes Reborn,' the book is primarily regarded as a functional utility piece rather than a landmark artistic statement, appreciated today mostly by collectors documenting the logistical evolution of the Marvel line.
