My Love Story #3

My Love Story #3 was published by Marvel Comics in 1957 as part of the publisher's long-running romance line during the 1950s. At the time, Marvel was navigating the post-code era of the industry, pivoting away from the darker crime and horror titles that had dominated the market to focus on softer, character-driven narratives that appealed to a primarily female readership.

The issue features the dramatic, heightened emotional storytelling common to the era's romance comics, characterized by heavy prose captions and expressive, stylized art intended to convey intense interpersonal stakes. Like other titles in this genre, the creators—often including seasoned industry veterans whose credits were frequently omitted—prioritized melodramatic scenarios and moral lessons regarding love, loyalty, and social expectations, reflecting the domestic aspirations of the mid-century American suburban landscape.
