My Wandering Warrior Eating Disorder #1

My Wandering Warrior Eating Disorder is a poignant autobiographical comic series written and illustrated by Sucie in the early 2020s. Born from the author's personal journey navigating the complexities of an eating disorder, the work serves as a vulnerable exploration of recovery, mental health, and the daily internal battles that accompany such experiences. The series emerged during a period of increased public discourse regarding mental health in independent comics, providing a raw and relatable narrative for those experiencing similar challenges.

The visual style of the series is intentionally intimate, utilizing expressive line work that captures the emotional weight of the subject matter. Sucie’s artistic approach focuses on the intersection of dark reality and hope, creating a visual language that balances the gravity of an eating disorder with the personal resilience required to manage it. Upon its release, the comic was received by the indie comics community as an honest, necessary addition to the genre of health-focused graphic memoirs, praised for its directness and refusal to romanticize the recovery process.
