Neko Musume Michikusa Nikki #20

Neko Musume Michikusa Nikki is a long-running manga series written and illustrated by Daisuke Meikyoushi, centered on the daily life of a cat-girl residing in a traditional rural Japanese setting. The series belongs to the slice-of-life genre, focusing on gentle, humorous interactions between its supernatural protagonist and the local human population. It emerged from the niche supernatural-comedy subgenre of manga, characterized by an emphasis on atmosphere and quiet character growth rather than high-stakes conflict.

The twentieth volume continues the established aesthetic of Meikyoushi's work, which typically utilizes clean line art and a warm, pastoral tone to emphasize the folklore-inspired elements of the narrative. As a title within the broader Neko Musume tradition in Japanese media, this series is noted for its modernization of classic yōkai tropes, reframing them through a lens of domesticity and gentle curiosity. It has maintained a steady, devoted readership, valued for its consistent quality and relaxed, episodic storytelling style.
